I have been accepted into the University of Edinburgh's 16 month MBA program!
I leave the United States on September 8, and will start classes on the 17th. This program is really unique because of its international structure. After a semester and a half in Edinburgh I will travel to China and take classes in Shanghai. Following that, I will have an internship and complete my Capstone. I will graduate with my Masters in December 2013. I have always wanted to further my education, and this program is the perfect balance of education and experience that will help me in the next stage of my career.
While I am very excited to start this new educational and cultural journey, it is very bittersweet. Yesterday was my last day at Target. I was there for almost two years, and worked in three different stores. I had the opportunity to open new stores as both a Team Leader and Executive Team Leader.
My most recent position, ETL Guest Experience/Softlines at the Inver Grove Heights store, was both the most challenging and fulfilling job I have ever had. I had a really awesome boss and great peers. I learned so much about myself as a leader and was driven to be better every day I was in the building. The level of support and guidance I got from leaders while working for Target was incredible, and I truly felt valued. This did not waver at all once I gave my notice. While it was made clear that they were very disappointed to lose me, every single person I spoke with gave me their support and wished me well. It is a really great company, filled with wonderful leaders and people, and I am grateful to have experienced it.
